Conduct weekly individual and group therapy sessions with adolescents diagnosed with a variety of disorders including Depression, Anxiety Disorders, and PTSD. Provide substance abuse and mental health treatment services. Maintain a case load of approximately 8 - 10 weekly clients as well co-facilitate a psycho-education and process group for adolescent boys in alcohol and/or drug treatment. Develop and write treatment plans, process notes, and diagnostic summaries. Conduct substance use assessments and urinalysis collections to ensure compliance with treatment plan.

Provide support counseling on a 24-hour hotline well as in-person at the San Mateo Medical Center post-assault medical exams and forensic interviews. Accompany survivors of abuse/assault to police interviews and court. Play a key role in survivors’ healing process. With the survivor's permission, remain with the survivor throughout the medical examination, evidence collection, and police interviews. Demonstrate a nonjudgmental, supportive attitude toward survivors of sexual violence. Focus on empathy, anonymity and emotional safety. Maintain confidentiality of survivors. Interact with survivors of varying socioeconomic, cultural, ethic, sexual orientation, sexual identification, and religious backgrounds.

Spend one-on-one time with Hospice patients and family members, offering socialization, company and support. Provide companionship, a listening ear and practical assistance. Befriend patients by sharing hobbies, reading to them, playing music, and offering emotional support. Help caregivers run errands, do light housekeeping or yard work, and sitting with patients to give caregivers a respite.

Mentored, facilitated and supported a deep and trusting, one-to-one friendship with an at-risk teenager to positively impact her life. Spent a minimum of two hours once a week together for over three years. This included drug and alcohol counseling, discussions about safe sex, mental well-being, building self-esteem, and learning about a culture outside of my own.

Fundraised over $50,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Successfully mentored volunteer participants in their fundraising efforts. Acted as the liaison between participants and cancer survivors. Visited cancer patients in their homes and care facilities, offering companionship during their treatment and recovery. Recruited participants at event information meetings. Encouraged a team atmosphere to ensure volunteers remained engaged and excited about the Hike and Run programs.
